Shardin Weyr

Weyrwoman Galina		Beautiful and devious, as Weyrwomen are often wont to be, Galina is a truly rare specimen. She has been Weyrwoman as long as most riders can remember, but has maintained her youth and beauty astonishingly. Weyrmated to Weyrleader F’der, she has more children (legitimate and non) than can be reasonably counted. She has an eye for attractive men (and a flare for seducing them) which F’der doesn’t seem to mind, although no one’s sure how she would react if he took a lover of his own. She’d sincerely like to have a fire lizard, but can’t seem to impress one to save her life. Prone to temper tantrums or fits of melancholy, she is not a woman you want on your bad side, and is no friend of the holds.
Junior Weyrwoman Kyllia		Poor Kyllia’s sole goal in life is to get laid. Sadly for the Weyrwoman’s Second, her homely face and ungainly figure make it more than a little difficult to get anyone at all into her bed, even when her dragon rises. As a result, she tends to be just a touch whiny and a larger touch desperate, and holds Galina in the deepest respect.
Weyrleader F’der		While Galina stays young and beautiful, F’der is showing every minute of his age, strain, and responsibility. Stolid and a bit removed from his fellow riders, F’der’s only goals are to make it through the Pass alive and not incur Galina’s wrath any more than necessary. His soft side only shows through around Namora, with whom he is passionately in love.
Weryleader’s Second Y’los		Strong, sturdy and dependable, Y’los is exactly what a wingleader and Weyrleader’s Second should be. At 40, he’s been around long enough to have seen it all and to know what he wants. What he wants is a peaceful existence both at the Weyr and with the Holds, and a nice quiet home life with his weyrmate Alianna and their children. He is often the calm in the middle of the storm.
Headwoman Namora		Extremely efficient, short tempered, and demanding, Namora has no soft spot in her heart for men, children, firelizards, or slackers. Her respect for authority is also questionable, but she is very good at her job and will get it done quickly. Along with Y’los, Namora is probably the true strength of the Weyr, in terms of keeping it running from day to day.
Bluerider T’yul		Bisexual and always out for a cheap thrill, T’yul adores Galina and will always help her with whatever she needs.
Greenrider Hanya		Snotty and something of a handful, Hanya seems to think she’d be better off as a man. Not picky about her bedmates.
Candidate Messina		Galina’s daughter, being reserved by her mother in case of a gold egg.

Dufas Hold

Lord Holder Tyros		Old, tired, and widowed, Tyros has very little left except his seventeen daughters. Even those are little consolation when all you wanted was a son. However, Tyros sees no reason not to use the situation to his advantage, making as many favorable alliances as possible to other Holds. But not to the Weyr. There is no love at all lost between Tyros and the Weyr. In fact, he has become convinced that they are trying to rob him of all his earning (in the guise of “tithes”) and even worse, of his population (“search” my ass).
ElphyElphynia		Daughter #17, Elphynia is by far the most lovely (if impertinent) of Tyros’s children. Not only does she remind Tyros of his dead wife, but he blames her for his wife’s death. The two therefore get along only with difficulty, and Tyros was delighted to marry her off as soon as possible. She accepted the engagement in stride, but will do anything she can to get out of it. Being happily wed is at the very bottom of her to do list – she would much rather see the world.
Columba		Daughter #8, Columba is extremely plain and sensible. She is Elphynia’s closest freind and confident, although she has a hard time understanding her youngest sister’s impetuosity. She wants her sister to be happy almost as much as she wisher for the wedded bliss Elphynia is trying to avoid. Other daughters include Typhanie and Moya.
Steward Ramon		Dedicated, fastidious, and grandfatherly, Ramon keeps the Hold running.
Starsmith Vilex		Devious, scheming, and not very attractive, Vilex has an agenda ten feet long. On this agenda, is getting most women into his bed and taking over the world. We’ll have to wait and see how successful he is.

Journeyman Weaver Bastion		Young, handsome, and remarkably dedicated to his craft, Bastion is going someplace in the world. He has taken his specific division of the craft (basketweaving) in thrilling new directions, and is about to start off on a cross-country journey to research new techniques.
Zaria &Courin		Lovely, buxom, and none too shy, these young harpers are traveling by trader train and they certainly have plans for Bastion…
Lord Heir Reptal		Slimy is unquestionably the best way to describe this creepy oldest son of Idjut Hold’s Lord. He knows he is unattractive and impolite, but he also knows that he has power and can get whatever he wants anyway. His engagement to Elphynia is just the most recent in a long string of choices that make other people very unhappy.
